E-BUSINESS

An E-business also known as electronic business is just like a regular business except it is conducted over the internet.  It involves buying and selling goods, serving customers, and collaborating with other businesses.  E-Business is similar to E-Commerce except it allows for exchange of  information between businesses and customers.

Some Industries who use E-business include:
  • Retail
  • Manufacturing
  • Travel
  • Health Care
  • Telecommunications
  • Financial
Just like traditional brick and mortar businesses E-businesses follow a specific model or approach when conducting business.  The approach is called an E-business model.

There are four types of E-business models:
  1. Business-to-Business (B2B)
  2. Business-to-Consumer (B2C)
  3. Consumer-to-Business (C2B)
  4. Consumer-to-Consumer(C2C)
B2B e-businesses focus on selling goods or services to other business.  An example of a business-to-business e-business is mightymerchant.com

B2C e-businesses focus on conducting business with consumers.  This is often times done through an e-store or e-shop.

C2B e-business sell goods or services to businesses. A popular consumer-to-business website is priceline.com. Here consumers can negotiate a price with the business.

C2C e-business sell goods or services to other consumers.  An example of a consumer-to-consumer website is craigslist.org

E-businesses have a ton benefits over traditional brick and mortar business because they can be accessed 24/7 from all around the world, they're convenient and they offer a ton of information both for consumer's and businesses.
