Every time the organization changes, the systems should be able to change as well to support the operations new applications. That is if an organization grows by 70 percent in a year, the systems should be able to support the same amount of percentage growth rate of that year. On the other hand, systems that are not able to change as organizations changes can have a great impact on the organization’s ability to operate. This can have a negatively affect on the organization. Nowadays, technology has become extremely important and without the systems in organizations, their services, work etc will not do very well. Organization’s future does depend on technology and their systems should cope with their decision as to what they want for the organization and customers well being. There are five characteristics of adaptable systems for infrastructure architecture and they are the following:
Availability addresses when systems can be accessed by employees, customers, and partners. Flexibility determines that systems are meeting all types of business changes. Performance measures how fast a system performs a certain process or transaction in terms of efficiency information technology metrics of both speed and throughput. A problem of not having enough performance capacity may have a tragic impact on the organization which can be avoided if taken the right procedures. Reliability ensures all systems are functioning correctly and providing accurate information. Finally, scalability defines how well a system can adapt to increased demands. One of the ways to ensure that information technology infrastructure is scalable is by performing a capacity plan. This helps procedure determines adaptability to increase demands.
Besides Infrastructure architecture there is also application architecture and service oriented architecture (SOA), information architecture and enterprise architecture. The service oriented architecture (SOA) is a business-driven information technology architectural approach that supports integration of businesses as services. Application architecture ensures that all applications are being used by an organization to create applications that are available, and consistent. Information architecture expresses the concept of information used in activities that required precise details of complicated systems and it identifies where and how important information is stored and secured. They mainly focus on disaster recovery, information security and backup and recovery. Enterprise Architect has different meanings and it is used in different cases. In this case enterprise architecture is plans for how an organization will build, use and share its data and processes. These architectures are essential to organizations at some point but are not as flexible and adaptable to change.
Every organization needs to be precise on the systems that are being used in order to have their organization advance in the market. Organizations also benefit by using infrastructure architecture in the way that there is a total cost improvement, improved reliability/reduced risk, tighter linkage to the business, business agility and improved communication. Also, organizations benefit from flexibility and adaptation from high level technology. For infrastructures that are not able to expand to organizations changes will be put aside and infrastructure architecture will be taken into consideration. Infrastructure architecture is the combination of technology components that are required to meet the needs of the organizations and analyses how the components interact with one another.
The best part of having infrastructure architecture is that it makes a good to the organization and it makes the process easier in order to provide the best to customers. Also it is worth investing on such a great technology as it is infrastructure architecture.
