I will create a data base that will track the number of employee complaints. In human resources employees often raise concerns about their co-workers, management, or the corporation’s labor practices. This data base will be used to track employee complaints by employee, the type of complaint, as well as location and market that the employee works. After the data base is complete I will create forms for easy and controlled data entry as well as some queries to report the type of complaints and the amount of complaints per market.
The first table will be called Employee Data. The first field will be titled Employee ID followed by the last name then the first name in a separate field. The second table will be titled Employment location. The first field will be titled Location Name and the second field will be titled Employee ID which will line this table to the Employee Data table. The following fields will be the Region Name followed by the Zone Name. This table will assume that the employment location is fixed with the region and zone. The third table will be titled Complaint type. The first field will list descriptions of the types of complaints. The second field will list the Location Name and this will be linked to the Employment Location table. The third field will be titled Complaint Date, the third field will be titled Complainant ID, and the fourth field will be titled Subject ID.
Since each employee may have many complaints and each complaint type may have many employees a many-to-many relationship will need to be established through a bridge table. The bridge table will be called Employee Complaints. The first field will be named Complaint Type and the primary key will be deleted so there is not a primary key. The second field called Employee ID. The Employee Data table will be linked to the Employee Complaint table through the Employee ID and the Complaint Type will be linked to the Employee Complaint table thorough the Complaint Type field.
